Managing Toileting Issues in People with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

Much as we hate discussing these things, toileting can be a hassle when things aren't working well. Boys with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) sometimes experience problems with constipation, with needing to go too often, in too much of a hurry or difficulty going at all. Some toileting guidelines have been developed to assist with these problems (see PDF on the right).
