Clinical Research
MontroseAccess supports a number of clinical research projects within its therapy departments. Involvement in research aims to develop the quality of MontroseAccess service provision, to enhance the spirit of enquiry amongst therapists and to ease the research-practice gap for therapists.
A recent partnership with the University of Queensland has enhanced our ability to engage in meaningful clinical research. Current projects include:
- A research programme looking at the working memory of children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy
- An investigation into factors influencing families’ participation in home exercise programmes with children with juvenile arthritis.
- An examination of the sensory processing patterns of children with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
